EverTag Battery Life Calculator
Estimate Battery Life for Wirepas Tags
Simulate how beaconing, positioning, and movement impact battery life for EverTag. Adjust intervals, compare scenarios, and see months/years instantlyâideal for pilots, scale-ups, and lowering TCO.
Overview
Simulate how beaconing, positioning, and movement affect battery life for EverTag and EverTag Mini (ET/ETM). Adjust intervals, compare scenarios, and see months/years instantlyâideal for planning pilots, scaling deployments, and reducing total cost of ownership.
When This Is Valuable
Pre-deployment / RFPs
Verify battery budget and latency targets before pilots.
Scale-up
Safely roll out thousands of tags with predictable maintenance windows.
Operations
Tune intervals for each area (dock, aisles, wards) to balance responsiveness and life.
Tips for Longer Battery Life
- âIncrease beacon interval where real-time updates aren't required.
- âUse a longer idle positioning interval than moving.
- âMinimize unnecessary events in high-motion zones.
- âChoose ET vs. ETM to match size vs. longevity requirements.
What the Model Calculates
Coulomb-based model combining base current and per-event charges for positioning and beacons. Movement splits time between idle/moving. Outputs consumption per month (C) and battery life (months/years).

Common Starting Scenarios
đ Warehouse (Fast Moves)
Device: Tag / ETM
Beacon interval: 2 seconds
Positioning: 60 s (moving), 600 s (idle)
Movement: 40â60%
đïž Manufacturing / Yard
Device: Tag / ET
Beacon interval: 4 seconds
Positioning: 120 s (moving), 900 s (idle)
Movement: 20â40%
đ„ Healthcare Equipment
Device: Tag / ETM
Beacon interval: Off (0)
Positioning: 300 s (moving), 1800 s (idle)
Movement: 5â15%
How to Use the Calculator
Select Device and Role
Choose between EverTag or EverTag Mini, and set the role (Tag/Anchor).
Set Positioning Intervals
Configure intervals for idle and moving states, and the beacon interval (set 0 to disable).
Adjust Movement Intensity
Drag the movement intensity slider (0â100%) to match your use case.
Read Results
View battery life (months/years) and monthly consumption.
Quick Compare
Use Quick Compare to test beaconing at 0/1/2/4 seconds.
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is it?
It mirrors our internal, measured current model. The model uses all the energy in the battery, but in reality the tag will die when battery voltage approaches around 2V, rendering a little bit of energy unusable for the tag.
Does it work for both Tag and Anchor?
Yesâselect the correct role to apply the right base current profile.
Any privacy concerns?
None. It's client-side onlyâno data leaves your browser.
